Varicose Veins
The veins are tubes which transfer blood in one direction – from the feet to the heart (while the arteries transfer the blood in the opposite direction). This unique flow can take place thanks to one way valves which are located inside the tubes.
Varicose Veins or Expanded Veins are created when the valves are not functioning properly. It causes a shunt which means that the blood which was meant for the heart begins flowing back towards the legs. The blood, now traveling the opposite direction, causes vein pressure to rise, a status known as Varicose Veins.
