Venous Bleeding
Varicose veins along with venous congestion cause continuous damage to the skin above the veins. In some cases, the vein and the skin above it are torn. This phenomenon is especially common while washing and warming the thin damaged skin above the veins. Elevating the leg, applying light local pressure and an elastic bandage suffice in order to stop the bleeding. At times the bleeding vein must be sutured prior to wrapping it with the elastic bandage.
